She grew up with her maternal grandparents, spending time with them in their vacation house in Okinawa going back and forth from there to Osaka. On her father's side the Fushimi Household is known to be the oldest cadet branch of the Imperial Family in Japan, but now distant commoner cousins to the modern throne. For generations of being affluent and keeping to themselves, the family has stuck to the appreciation and preservation of culture with occasional loyalists that urge her grandfather to bring back the establishment of the extended family of the Imperial Throne. Juniper grew up with all of this knowledge however not knowing what exactly it entails but develops a deep appreciation of history and art.
